“The difference of being a member with LegalShield
I had a car accident. It wasn’t my fault, however I received the ticket. I called my [provider] attorney. He advised me to send him a copy of the ticket, photos of the accident, and scan a diagram of what happened. I did do. Next thing I knew, I received a letter from him stating that he’d appeared in court on my behalf, and at the hearing the magistrate dismissed my case.
The next letter was from my car insurance company: ‘Dear Policy Holder, our records show [you] had an accident. As a result, a surcharge will be included in your renewal premium for three renewal periods.’
My premium was $901 a year. The new policy would be $1925 a year, for three years. I called my [provider] attorney. She sent a letter to the insurance company requesting removal of the surcharge. After seven days I received a letter from the insurance company.
Since I have an attorney I receive a lot of respect. It’s no longer ‘Dear Policy Holder’, it’s ‘Dear Mr. Rentzer, after reviewing the details of your accident we have determined that the surcharge should not be added to your policy. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this has caused you.’
I will never be without a LegalShield membership. Most of my life I have been in business, and used numerous attorneys. Most of them are vultures, piranhas in costume of human form. They never return phone calls, that’s just one of the things they don’t know how to do. My two attorneys from [my provider firm] are wonderful! They are a different breed of attorney.
